Now that the High Bridge is Open the DOT wants to make it easier to get there (by bicycle, that is)

WCBS NY has reported today, June 12, 2015, that plans are afoot at the NYC DOT to put bicycle lanes near and in the park to make it easier for bicyclists to get to the High Bridge and other parts of the city.

DOT and Coundilman Ydanis Rodriguez Broke Ground on Uptown Bike Lanes as reported by Streetsblog. org.

Numerous bicyclists have commented about the current difficulty of getting to the High Bridge from Amsterdam Ave.

City Proposing New Bicycle Lanes on Amsterdam Ave.

The City is proposing new bicycle lanes on Amsterdam Ave. up to Highbridge Park to open next year.  This will coordinate with the newly opened bicycle lanes that will cross the High Bridge to the Bronx that will open sometime around the end of this year.
