A New Addition to the Neighborhood: The Word Up Bookstore

On Friday evening, July 26, 2013, the celebration for the Grand Opening of the Word Up Community Bookstore finally arrived. The store, relocated to the corner of 165th and Amsterdam Avenue in Washington Heights.   The story made front page news in the Manhattan Times.  Word Up Co-founder Veronica Liu thanked the crowd of onlookers and volunteers for their support.
