Word Up Community Bookstore reopens in New Perminent Location

On Friday, July 26, 2013, The Word Up Bookstore had its Grand Opening. It is located at the corner of 165th St. and Amsterdam Ave. A large group of about 300 people from the community were present for the festivities. There are very few Bookshops in Washington Heights, and the addition of a retail general inventory store is a refreshing addition, especially on Amsterdam Ave.

Now, Word Up Bookstore is hosting Saturday Night Jazz Sessions;

Coogan’s Restaurant presents a reading, public discussion and reception to mark the publication of “Crossing Broadway – Washington Heights and the promise of New York City.” Published by Cornell University Press featuring author Robert W. Snyder.
