A blast from the past.  This New York Times article from 2006 seems to think the High Bridge will cost about $20-30 million to restore.

A fire at 501 W. 179th St and Amsterdam Ave. on January 20, 2015 was destructive enough to cause the evacuation of the entire building until the repairs are completed.

Today, Sept 18, 2014 there is a weird article about a pit bulldog at the Highbridge Park dog run that mauled a person and two dogs.

This is an article that appeared in the New York Times on March 31, 2014. Essentially, it is about the construction of a pedestrian bridge in Van Cortlandt Park to connect two sections of the park and the Croton Aqueduct Trial that were severed with the construction of the Major Deegan Expressway. Interesting issues here, though not specifically about the High Bridge.

October 23, 2013 turned out to be a banner day for articles on the High Bridge. These were sparked by an article in the New York times.  The article is interesting in that it discusses the High Bridge and its connection to the improvements in the Harlem River for public access. There is another one on-line at CURBED that covers the history and other aspects of the Bridge (The High Bridge Reclaims Its History With $61M Restoration). The third is also on-line at GroupThink, "The Harlem River Gets Some Love".

This blog post is an interesting twist from an architectural organization.

While this article in the Riverdale Press is not exactly on point, it could have significance.  The MTA will run a pilot program to clean up the Metro North Hudson Line railroad bed of debris between Spuyten Duyvil and Highbridge.  If successful they will clean up other lines. Since lines run under the High Bridge this will potentially be really significant.
